We can confirm that Sleeman Breweries has made an offer to purchase Wild Rose Brewery. There will be a vote for Wild Rose shareholders on May 9th to approve the sale of the company, and if they do, we will be releasing full details on May 10th. In the meantime, we wanted to clarify a few points.
Wild Rose Brewery has seen exceptional success in the Alberta market and it continues to thrive in a changing marketplace which is what led to our interest in partnering with them. Sleeman’s offer to purchase Wild Rose is based on their ongoing success, excellent product offering and the great cultural fit we see between the two organizations. Alberta is a province with high growth potential for both breweries and we see this partnership as an excellent opportunity to leverage each other’s strengths and complementary portfolios as an amalgamated organization.
There are no plans to make any changes to Wild Rose recipes. If shareholders approve the sale, Wild Rose will still be using the same brewers, same ingredients, same Calgary water and ultimately and most importantly, providing the same craft, Alberta beer that so many have come to love.
This is an exciting time for Sleeman and we look forward to sharing the results of the vote in the morning next Friday, May 10th along with more detailed information. For any media inquiries and to book an interview on that date, please contact:
