A Summer of Cycling for Communities Across Canada
This summer, teams across Sleeman Breweries took to two wheels to help support their communities. In BC and Quebec, our teams joined several cycling events to raise money for health-focused charities.
In June, a team of Sleeman Breweries employees in Vernon, BC participated in the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ride Don’t Hide event. This community cycling event raises funds for mental health care and brings the community together to move more, give back, and feel better. Our team brought family and friends to join them and completed courses of varying lengths. Together, they raised $345 to support CMHA.
Later the same month, members of our Quebec Sales and Marketing team took part in the 135 km La Boucle component of Le Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie. This annual event supports healthy communities and encourages healthy habits. At the event, riders and spectators had the chance to sample new Sleeman Zero+ 0.0% with electrolytes – our new non-alcoholic beer along with our Sleeman Clear 2.0 Flavour extensions.
Another group of employees from our Quebec team took to their bikes in July for the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau. Completing a 144 km course, the team helped raise funds for pediatric oncology in Quebec. With the help of their partners, the Sleeman Breweries team collected $7,125 that will support hospitals in Quebec where children receive cancer treatments.
Congrats to our riders and thank you for making a difference in your community!
