Sleeman Breweries supports wildfire relief

This summer has seen devastating wildfires in many parts of Canada, forcing thousands of people from their homes, and causing widespread damage.

Sleeman Breweries is an important part of the communities where we live and work. Our commitment to Better Beer, Better People, Getting Better includes stepping up when our communities need us. With many employees from our Vernon facility living around the Okanagan Valley, these fires hit close to home for Sleeman Breweries.

Today, Sleeman Breweries donated $20,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support their BC Wildfire Relief. All employee donations to the relief effort will be matched by Sleeman Breweries. Red Cross teams are on the ground in BC, working to provide cots, pillows, blankets, hygiene kits and other necessities to those in need.

Our team in BC has donated 60 coolers and a number of blankets to Mamas for Mamas, one of the many inspiring agencies taking the lead to support fire relief across the Okanagan. The coolers will be distributed to those affected by the fires to help keep food cold and to hold care packages for evacuees and those who have lost their homes. Our sincere thanks to the Sleeman Breweries employees who volunteered to assemble the care packages.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the wildfires this summer and our thanks go to fire fighters, first responders, and community organizations helping them.

Can you help? Sleeman Breweries encourage those who can donate to the Canadian Red Cross BC Wildfire Relief.
